As anyone from central Illinois can tell you, the weather in early April (or any month, for that matter!) is completely unpredictable swaying from sunny and 70s to sleeting and 40s in practically no time. So, when I met with Kari and we discussed her vision for her wedding photos, I was glad that she chose downtown Peoria. Downtown is FULL of “Plan B” options just in case we had a sprinkling of April showers.
But instead, we were graced with the most gorgeous sunny 70 degree day. Weddings are always a blast, don’t get me wrong, but there’s just something about seeing a couple enjoying one of the first nice days of the year which just happens to fall on their wedding day with their friends and family- so much genuine joy and laughter and living in the moment. Beautiful couple + beautiful day = beautiful photos!
After photos we went back to Monarch for the ceremony and reception- Monarch is a huge space, but the ambiance of the room was warm and inviting with florals and candlelight filling up the space and completely transforming the room. It’s good that they had such a large venue because I’m not sure if Kari and Brian know a stranger; they had so many friends there to celebrate with them! And, I don’t feel like this post would be complete without mentioning the wonderful toasts given by all four members of their wedding party; I love to photograph laughs and let’s just say I had plenty of opportunities to do so throughout those speeches!
Congrats Kari & Brian!
